2.25. COMMISSIONING OF NEW TRACK MACHINES:

New track machines have been commissioned i.e.
 UNIMAT – 4S

UNIMAT-4S is 1 kind of a machine in Indian railways, deployed in SC division
st
of SCR.
In IRs, we have only 3 such machines till date (each one in SCR,NR and
NCR).
1. Features and ability of UNIMAT-4S machine:
 It is having 4x4 tamping bank structure.

 4---Four independent tamping banks.
 4---Four independently tiltable tamping tools in each independent
tamping bank.
 It can Lift and Pack the 4th Rail of the Turn Out.

 Packing of a complete Turnout along with long sleepers can be
achieved in fully mechanised manner by slewing the Outer tamping
bank towards the 4th Rail up to 1metre away from the machine.
2. Date of Commissioning in SC division is 12-August-2022.
3. This machine is having advanced features like ALC (computer) and DRP

 Hot dynamic tamping express 09-3X

Dynamic Express is the combination of Tamping Express and Dynamic
track Stabilizer (3X and DGS)
1. Features and ability of Dynamic Express machine:
 It can pack 3 sleepers at a time along with stabilization.
 Average tamping progress of 1.8 Kilometres per Hour with
stabilization.
 It is the backbone for the speed Improvement in IRs.
2. This machine 1st commissioned in Secunderabad division of South
Central Railway.
3. This machine is having advanced features like ALC (computer) and
DRP.
