While tuition covers the school’s operating costs, it is our loyal donors — alumni, parents, staff and friends — who power the advancement of NJC. Scholarships ensure that we continue to attract and award the finest students. Bursaries help appreciative families manage the cost of tuition and help to ensure that no students are left behind when travel opportunities are presented. Donors also contribute to special programs to enhance our curriculum and improve our historic campus.
Neuchâtel Junior College is a non-profit, independent school, supported by The Neuchâtel Junior College Fund, a Canadian registered charity, which exists for the purpose of securing funding for the school’s charitable programs and managing our endowment.

NJC ANNUAL FUND 2016-2017
Head of ScHool’S fund
The Head of School’s Fund offers the college a valuable, annual, general source of funds. One of the most popular charitable designations, this Fund allows the school to direct resources to the area of most need, which can include curriculum enhancement, extra-curricular activities, and maintenance of infrastructure and technology.

NJC tuition is comparable to Canadian boarding school fees; however, the school offers exceptional extra-curricular activities that present additional costs along with the high standard of living in Switzerland and a fluctuating exchange rate. Sending a student can be a significant investment for prospective families to consider. Bursaries provide much appreciated financial assistance to families who would otherwise be unable to send their teen to NJC.
Tuition Bursaries
Bursaries help families with the cost of tuition every year at NJC. An important source of income, which allows us to welcome more applicants each year, bursaries also provide additional stability for the school in years when enrolment is challenged by conditions affecting the
broader economy.
Travel Bursaries
NJC presents travel opportunities that foster cultural and personal growth
in students; yet most travel is an additional cost that some families are unable to assume. These bursaries range in size and enable students to travel to more destinations with their NJC peers rather than being left behind.

As our campus ages and the technological needs of the school increase, it is vital that we continuously and strategically invest in our premises. This is essential because we know that the quality of our campus has a direct effect in producing the best student experience possible.
Make a contribution to our Campus Maintenance and Infrastructure program and share in the custodianship of our beautiful historic property. A modern, responsibly maintained campus is intrinsic to NJC’s quest to inspire higher learning and growth in our students.
claSS fundS
Class reunions are shared milestones – occasions for our graduates to observe their place in NJC’s history, reflect on what the College has given to them, and renew their ties. Reunions, no matter the size, are also celebrations during which friends may rally to focus their fundraising efforts in support of a common interest or to honour a classmate or respected teacher.
With an emphasis on alumni engagement and unity, we encourage all alumni to rally together in a shared fundraising effort to boost participation in our annual giving program. If you would like to set up a class fund, whether hosting a reunion or not, please contact the school for information on special projects requiring funding.

Endowment funds are essential to the long-term stability of any academic institution. It is the legacy that one generation of alumni and past parent donors can leave to ensure the strength and permanence of an institution. A donation to the endowment is a gift that will support the school in perpetuity since only the return on the capital is utilized as a source of funds.
