RESULTS OF SEASON LONG COMPETITIONS

We have a big jump in claim numbers in 2019 with a total of 370 riders making a total of 534 claims in our
three competitions; this included 48 women who made a total of 66 claims. Total number of claims in 2018
was 446 and in 2017 was 442.
Participation by group is as follows (2018 in brackets):
East Anglian - 9 (19), Kent - 7 (2), London & Home Counties - 27 (23), Manchester & North West - 7 (5),
Merseyside - 30 (28), Midlands - 7 (8), North - 7 (5), Nottingham & East Midlands - 18 (15), North Lancashire
& Lakes - 33 (27), North Midlands - 36 (41), Surrey/Sussex - 8 (6), Scotland - 42 (50), South Wales - 4 (5),
West - 34 (16), Wessex - 34 (40), Yorkshire - 67 (20)
92 claimants are aged 40-49, with 147 in their 50s, 91 in their 60s, 35 in their 70s and 5 in their 80s with two
of these gaining top five places.
Angela Carpenter, Jackie Field and Michelle Lee taking the top three positions overall in the 3 Distance
Competition is a fantastic result and a testament to their hard work this season. Angela Carpenter also takes
first woman and third overall in the Short Distance Competition as well as being a member of the winning
club team in the Short Distance Competition and winning group team in the Three Distance Competition.
Ron Hallam (South Pennine RC) continues to lead the way in the Short Distance Competition with the overall
win for the fifth consecutive time!
Following a change made at the last AGM, awards are now made in each competition to the first three men,
the first three women, the best group team of six and the best club team of three. These award winners are
shown in bold in the results tables.
Awards will be presented to all winners at the National Presentation/AGM, to be held at Solihull on Saturday
25 th January 2020.
