Utilization: compact retanning for very soft leathers

PROPERTIES
GEATAN 3003 is a compact fatliquoring that provides excellent results
of softness and filling. It can be used as single product in the retanning
of very light and soft leathers. It is used after a conventional
neutralization with Formate and sodium bicarbonate, in a pH above
5.0 and blue cut. It gives excellent softness leveling throughout the
hide. Another property of GEATAN 3003 is the excellent leveling and
standardization of the dyeing. It can be used in dark colors, as well as
in very light colors, always resulting very clean colors. .
GEATAN 3003 is recommended for compact processes of leather
production. Its application in fast and short formulas results in process
time reduction and high productivity of batches. Besides this
workableness, the lower consumption of water in the process with
GEATAN 3003 provides considerable decrease in the water volume for
the effluents treatment. .
The process with GEATAN 3003 takes around 4 hours. Another
advantage is that of using one single product. The quantity used of
GEATAN 3003 may vary according to the article, but it will normally be
around 20% over the shaved weight. .
It can also be used in open formulas, with the purpose of giving
softness and filling, as well as lightness. GEATAN 1001 can be used in
different articles: nappas in general, furniture upholstering, floater and
tumbled leathers. After the leather is tumbled, it presents a very good
softness as well as a very uniform break.
