announced
The Royal Photographic Society has revealed the winning images from
its 160th International Photography Exhibition (IPE160). Glasgow-based
photographer Margaret Mitchell has taken the Gold Award, with London
photographer Owen Harvey picking up Gold in the Under 30s category.
R. J. Kern from the USA takes home the Silver award and Canadian, Wes
Bell, wins Bronze. For the fi rst time in the exhibition’s history – which has
been running since 1854 – all four winners entered a series of work, rather
than individual images.
The winning photographs will be included in a touring exhibition of 100
images selected from the thousands of entries. The exhibition opens at
The Old Truman Brewery on London’s Brick Lane, where it runs from
13-16 October before moving on to Aberystwyth Arts Centre (17 January –
10 March 2018) and The Civic, Barnsley (28 April – 9 June 2018). The four Niagara © Andrew Urwi
winners will also have their images exhibited as part of a group show at
theprintspace gallery, London, in 2018. More venues may be added, so
visit rps.org/IPE160 for the latest tour dates and locations.
