Welcome back to this month’s issue of the
newsletter!
There are many things happening as we move
through the school year. To begin, I would like to
share that the Superintendent’s Advisory Committee
dedicated to the Student Code of Conduct
Revision is underway. There has been 3 new student
additions to the committee and those students will
be formally introduced to the adults on the
committee in a few weeks. Revision on the language
of the Code of Conduct is underway and updates on
the district’s website is forthcoming. Student
involvement in the drafting of the codes of conduct
will be announced as well. Please begin sharing this
with your students prompting them to listen for
announcements and THS App push notifications.
The School Climate Transformation Grant
(SCTG) was officially announced and discussions
on planned implementation is in the works. District
level meetings have been held with the Project
Director (yours truly), Dr. Knoff (Grant Consultant),
and Beyond”—A conversation with

and various members of the district learning
community. Dr. Knoff has visited all 7 schools and
met with building level administrators to ascertain
each building’s respective climate and its needs to
begin drafting the best implementation strategies for
each grade/developmental level. Dr. Knoff will
return to Teaneck Public School District in
December 2019 with details of next steps and what’s
to come.
The School Climate Safety Team is moving into
implementing November’s theme—Appreciation.
