Meeting in Eumundi
Sunday 12th MAY
Mother’s Day
MYSTERY DRIVE and LUNCH
The promised rain did not arrive and we had a glorious sunny day for a dazzling drive through the countryside, hills, valleys and winding roads to test our intrepid drivers along Ken McGregors route.
First stop was the famous Gympie Gold Mining Museum for a welcome coffee/tea. Then it was onwards to Kin Kin by a rambling route for a lively gossip and welcome relaxed lunch of freshly prepared pizza – so many pizzas!!! And guess what I found – scrummy pastries in the adjoining bakery shop. [Me and my cake!!!]
After lunch a group visited the little boutique shop opposite, while others lingered over more gossiping and a final bevvy. Then on the road again for a pleasant drive home – still
no rain...
My thanks to Ken for a great drive. As he had set the route my job as ‘navigator’ was quite unnecessary but most enjoyable :-)
