As the weather was a little overcast, and the shops had already been raided, the girls decided to drive the ‘Settlers Route’. This proved to be a pretty drive through Canningvale then Killarney where we stopped for a bit of a look at the shops and lost Bernadette again!!!!! We were going to have a look at Queen Mary Falls, but by then the weather was not co-operating and the tops of the mountains were covered in cloud. A local gallery owner suggested that we go to Daggs Falls, just a short distance out of town. After a quick stop there we were off to complete the route through Tannymorel, Emu Vale, Yangan and Swan Creek and back to the B & B and a glass of wine!
The boys returned after a good final day’s racing and we all enjoyed a BBQ.

Report on the Racing :
Mick Freestone...
“The racing was loud, smelly
parts. A great array of cars from open wheelers to sports sedans, even George Fury and Mark Scaife’s turbo Nissans from the 1980s...very rapid!!!
Plenty of Ford/Holden rivalry and, as usual, a gaggle of a dozen or so Minis nipping at everybody’s heels. Not too many crashes, as car enthusiasts we know only too well how costly that can be!!!!!”

THE WEEKEND AT MORGAN PARK RACEWAY, WARWICK MAY 2023
The boys story from John McGovern
Ken, Pat, Anne and I set off in Ken's people mover (Honda Odyssey) on the Friday to meet Mick and Debbie at the Wild Horse Mtn service station for our first coffee stop.
We had decided to take the scenic route through Kilcoy, Esk and Gatton, but someone in the car (who shall remain nameless) decided the GPS was wrong and we ended up on dirt roads.
Mick and Debbie's 3-week old Kia had a good workout!
We ended up going through Woodford and Esk, finally arriving at Warwick where we booked into the Pit Stop B&B where Bernadette and Graham were waiting.
The men went to the track each day for some great historic racing and the ladies went shopping and touring round the Warwick area.
Morgan Park is a very well maintained track and there were plenty of interesting cars in the pits.
All in all it was a great weekend, perfect weather, good company, and more than a drop of wine was consumed.
