Gerry Murphy Racing will also be selling tickets to win ‘hot laps’ in one of his race cars that will be displayed on the day: all ticket sales proceeds will also go to the Katie Rose Cottage Hospice.
GET YOUR PHOTO IN A RACECAR FOR A GOLD COIN DONATION!!
Thanks also to Gerry Murphy – people attending the Show will be able to get a photo in the driver’s seat of Gerry's Porsche 997.2 Cup Car for a gold coin donation which will go to Katie Rose Cottage Hospice. There will be a display of race cars at the Show.
We first ran this event in 2019, at the same location, and raised in excess of $6,200.00 for our nominated charity/partners in that event: Katie Rose Cottage Hospice. In 2020 Covid restrictions unfortunately caused us to cancel the proceedings, making this year’s event even more important.
For those members who did not attend in 2019 – or for all those new members – our aim is not to be the biggest show on the coast, but be a quality occasion with plans to have around 120 cars and up to 20 motor bikes on display.
The format will be similar to 2019 and the cars and bikes will be in a random layout with space between the cars allowing spectators to move freely around the displays without causing damage – no straight lines like most shows!! This format also encourages owners/exhibitors to be around their display and set up some chairs and chat to the spectators/admirers.
This will be a fun day with a ‘picnic atmosphere’ so bring along your chairs and hampers, or support our food vendors on site who also contribute funds to our chosen charity.
To make this event a memorable and successful day, we have the support of many local sponsors who have generously committed their involvement.
But we also need the assistance of volunteers on site on the day, starting with set-up from 6.00am and packing up from 1.00pm. As well as assisting to guide exhibitor’s cars into place, assistance with

spectator parking and general assistance during the day as necessary. This includes encouraging and monitoring safe social distancing practices at the spectator entrances and generally throughout the day. Rosters will be set up for these roles as required. There is also a requirement to maintain the cleanliness of the area throughout the event including maintaining the amenities as provided.
We have already established our judging teams, but if you wish to assist in any other way on the day you will be given clear instructions needed for those roles. To register, please contact Graeme Adams: details below.
The Katie Rose Cottage Hospice volunteers, some of whom are also Roadrunner Car Club members, will be responsible for both of the spectator entry gates and related entry fee money handling and they will run their own roster.
If you have not already done so, please register your attendance and vehicle via the RCC website ASAP as we will give preference to Club Members.
We also wish to invite entries from other Clubs in the region who in turn have invited our members to their events. We will cap entries at between 120 and 150 which the site will accommodate comfortably.
