As GEMS Founders School Dubai is inclusive to
almost 112 different student nationalities, the
students thought it would best to show this to the school
and recognize, appreciate and most importantly,
empower minority cultures. Along with this, our long-
term goals are to integrate society through cultural Senalda Sunil
knowledge and awareness, one culture at a time and to Managing Editor
provide our youth with a platform for representation.
Our newspaper does not only celebrate lesser-known
cultures, but it also contains different campaigns such
as the Helping Youth campaign which aims to tackle
stigma around teenage mental health through creative
content. Our Teaching Youth campaign is centralized
around educating primary students using simplistic Sheaden Lobo
Recruiter
resources that include information from our E-paper
and other awareness campaigns.
In each issue of the GFS Youth E-paper, we focus
on one minority culture, using a document that provides
us with the number of students in our school per
nationality. Including book of the week , quote of the Mariah Quisiah
week and a micro-biography of a person from that Creative Director
country. Our paper also connects teachers and students
through our Get To Know GFS column, where we
interview one teacher, every two weeks, and have a
casual chat about life advice, experiences and personal
thoughts on current situations. In a time so isolating,
this truly connects us to staff in GFS through a sense of Hamze Eido
friendship and empathy. Advertising Manager
