KRYSTIAN JANIK
Krystian Janik has a pretty impressive
track record at the Loretta Lynn’s Amateur National Championship, finishing in the top five in two out of three classes that he’s contested -- his best finish being a third place in 2015. The Illinois native missed out on Loretta’s last year due to an injury, but he’ll be gunning to pick up right where he left off when he makes his return to Hur- ricane Mills this year. After some outstand- ing performances at the end of the 2016 racing season, Janik earned himself a
spot on the Team Green Kawasaki squad. He’s been competing in various 65cc and 85cc classes throughout the 2017 season thus far, and after taking a couple of races to adapt to the new machinery, Janik has really found his form. The youngster scored two top five finishes at the Daytona RCSX, placing fourth in the 65cc (7-11) class and fifth in the 85cc (9-11) class. He continued his improved form at the JS7 Freestone Spring Championship, grabbing a handful of top ten finishes on both bikes before rolling into JuniorMotoX ready to do some damage. The Illinois native earned some of his best finishes of the 2017 racing season at the Lazy E Arena, scoring two podium results in the 85cc (9-11) Limited class and the 65cc (10-11) Limited class. Janik domi- nated the MC Moto Park Youth Regional with a duo of overall victories and a second place finish, putting him on the right track heading into the big show at Loretta Lynn’s.
KENNEDY LUTZ
Kennedy Lutz was a consistent top five contender back when she competed in the Girls class at Loretta Lynn’s near the turn of the new decade. The Canadian rider scored her first podium at the Ranch back in 2012 with a third place finish in the Girls (9-11) class. After underperforming in the Women’s class in 2014 and missing the race altogether in 2015, Lutz re-established herself as one of the top female riders
in North America with a third place finish
in the Women (14+) class, as well as a twenty-third overall in 450 C. The Yamaha rider hones her skills at Real Deal MXTF
in South Carolina and also competes regularly in the Canadian Women’s Series where she spends a lot of her time on the top step of the podium. She has set a prec- edent for herself in 2017 with some stellar results throughout the first half of the year -- two second place finishes at the Mill- creek Spring Classic in the Women’s class, a second place finish in the Women’s class at the JS7 Freestone Spring Champion- ship, and a first place in the Collegegirl class. Lutz went on to earn her ticket to the Ranch in spectacular fashion with a third place in the Women (12+) Amateur class at the Gatorback Youth Regional, and she’ll be looking to carry her podium form into the big one at Loretta Lynn’s.
