ENZO LOPES
The aspiring youth of the motocross world gather from all over the globe in order to earn the shot at a number one plate on the hallowed grounds of Loretta Lynn’s Ranch. Enzo Lopes is reaffirmed proof that no distance is too far when chasing a lifelong dream, and his dream has brought him far away from his hometown of Saint-Trope, Brazil. The seventeen year- old made his first appearance at the Ranch back in 2011 in the 85cc and 65cc class, immediately proving his potential with a seventh and second place finish, respectively. Lopes
was able to match his best result in 2013 by taking second place overall in the Mini Sr. (12-14) Limited class, but he’s still chasing the first Loretta Lynn’s National Championship of his career. It was shaping up to be a good year in 2016 after Lopes racked up four overall podiums and an overall win during Regionals, but an unfortunate crash in the Brazilian Nationals at the end of July left him with two broken wrists one week prior to the dance at the Ranch. His grit and determination remained unaffected as he attempted to rehab during an impos- sible timeframe, but it was an obstacle too daunting to overcome. Nonetheless, Lopes is coming into Loretta’s in peak form this year after an incredible streak of results throughout the summer that include a pair of overall victories at Regionals as well as a pair of solid runner-up finishes at Mammoth Mountain.
