CARSON BROWN
It’s always promising in the motorsports world when a rider shows consistent improvements from year-to-year. Car-
son Brown has done exactly that since debuting at Loretta Lynn’s Dude Ranch in 2013, keeping his finishes consistent in the process. The Washingtonian managed a top ten overall finish in the Mini Sr. (12-14) Limited class in his first year at the Ranch, then scored a pair of sixth place overall finishes one year later -- after missing 2015 the pacific northwesterner returned in style last year by snagging two podium finishes in the Schoolboy 1 (12-16) B/C class and the 125 (12-16) B/C class. His speed and consistency garnered the attention of the coveted Team Green Kawasaki squad and Brown hooked up with them for Mini-O’s as well as the ensuing 2017 season. He made the move onto the KX250 look relatively easy at the Thor Winter Olympics, scoring four top five finishes, two of which put him on the podium. He made the trek to the Daytona RCSX for the first time in his ama- teur career, earning a third place overall
in the incredibly competitive Schoolboy 2 class. The Washington native has grown increasingly comfortable with the new kit throughout the summer, eventually domi- nating the Washougal Amateur Regional with a pair of first place finishes in 450 B and 450 B Limited as well as a second place overall in the 250 B class. Brown will be hoping to continue his streak of steady improvement at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch in 2017 and there’s only one spot left uncon- quered for the Team Green Kawasaki rider.
CHANCE HYMAS
Chance Hymas is currently sporting a two year streak of podium finishes at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch, scoring a moto win on his way to second place overall in the 65cc (7-9) Limited class in 2015 as well as earn- ing a third place overall in the 85cc (9-12) class in 2016. The Team Green Kawasaki rider followed up Loretta’s with some solid results at the Motoplayground Race at Ponca City, finishing on the podium in all three 85cc classes that he entered. Spring nationals also went well for the Idaho na- tive as he managed to accumulate eight podium finishes, including two national titles. Hymas was utterly dominant in the sands of Oak Hill Raceway, only finishing off the overall podium on one occasion. The Kawasaki rider continued to excel
at the California Classic, capturing two second place finishes in tight battles with his Team Green teammates as well as a third place overall in the 85cc (9-12) class. Hymas chose to attend the Washougal Amateur Regional and he had no issues earning a spot on the gate for Loretta Lynn’s, scoring two second place overall finishes with relative ease. Superchunk,
as he’s affectionately called, added one more podium finish to his collection before making the trip to Tennessee with a second place overall at JuniorMotoX, placing him in the right mindset heading to the Ranch.
