PARKER ROSS
Parker Ross, one of the top Cobra Elite Team Riders, has a history of successful results at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch. The Cali- fornian has scored three top five finishes in his three appearances at the Amateur National Championships, but he’s yet to find his way up onto the podium. 2017 could be the year for the Californian as he’s seemingly taken his riding to another level throughout the first half of the 2017 season. Ross started off with a third place overall finish in the 65cc (7-11) class at the JS7 Freestone Spring Championship in addition to a couple of top ten finishes in his other classes, but he really turned it up when he showed up in his home state at the California Classic. He took the title in the 65cc (10-11) class and stood on the podium in the remaining 65cc classes, bringing his confidence to an entirely new level in preparation for his qualifiers. The Californian dominated the competition at both of the Amateur Regionals that he entered, taking two overall wins at Pala and a second place overall in the 65cc (7- 11) class at Prairie City in order to earn his spots at the Ranch.
JAMIE ASTUDILLO
Jamie Astudillo has implanted herself as one of the regular contenders in the Girls and Women’s classes throughout recent years of competition at Loretta Lynn’s. The Pennsylvania native has a trio of podium finishes in her history of racing at the Ranch, but she has really come into her own as a consistent frontrunner in the past couple of years. Astudillo had the most exceptional performance of her career
thus far in 2016, finishing in third place in the Girls Sr. (12-16) class and fourth place overall in the Women (14+) Amateur class. The teenager has been able to upkeep her successful performances throughout the first half of the 2017 season, scoring a third place overall in the WMX class at the Day- tona RCSX. She has scored a multitude of podium and top five finishes in the WMX Championship throughout the season, and also earned a top ten in the 125 2-stroke class at Oak Hill. Astudillo competed in a stacked class at the Gatorback Youth Re- gional and punched her ticket to the Ranch in the Women (12+) Amateur class with a fourth place overall finish, but there’s no doubt she’s a threat for the podium after all three motos subside in Hurricane Mills.
