Bacon, Eggs, and a large pole position qualifying spot were what the New Mexico native ordered prior to the opening moto festivities. Claiming the top spot in both qualifiying sessions, Anderson appeared to set a serious tone from the time he stepped out of the toy hauler. Moto one saw Anderson being as aggressive as ever. The classic elbow tucked, head cocked style was slinging terrain into both competitors and fans
alike. Literally leaping back and forth alongside teammate Christophe Pourcel, and friendly foe Cole Seely, the three were neck
and neck amongst the hills of High Point. With Roczen setting sail out front, and Marvin Musquin inching his way into the party in the early stages, Anderson finally settled into the third place position, where he would finish and end the moto. With each respective 450 clicking into gear, and pilots drastically hanging over the front end to keep wheels sunk in and traction heavy, the gatedrop and the field stormed into turn one. Fighting for every position he had, Anderson began to joust anyone that came near and make a move
for another highly coveted podium position. As El Hombre sat third at the halfway point of moto number two, dust began to fly as the Southern Pennsylvania sun really began to unleash its brightest of beams. He trailed the so-called “heavy hitters” of Roczen and Tomac, giving a valiant effort to place himself in the “top-tier”. Fourteen seconds out of the lead with ten to go, Anderson was in limbo chasing the tail of ET3, yet having pressure build from Baker’s Factory counterpart, Marvin Musquin. He would remain here, taking a third in the moto, and second overall on the day. Not enough to decrease Roczen’s hefty gap, but nonetheless something to build off of as the series moves on.
