As the sun crested the rolling hills of the Southern Pennsylvania landscape, Oldenburg stepped out of the semi and began to visualize the methodical plan in which he was about to begin. It would start the moment his KTM dug into the fudge like loam; pinning his way around the numerous chicanes, he claimed a solid
ninth position on the final time sheet. Boy oh boy what a start for Mitchell Oldenurg, clocking in the first lap in a disappoint- ing nineteenth place. He had work to do, but didn’t shy away from the task at hand and hopped an insurmountable five places on lap two; portraying his skills as an extreme risk taker. The valiant charge would replicate through each and every lap throughout the moto, resulting in an outstanding seventh place. Running the helmet cam for the 250 moto, Oldenburg wanted to make sure that he would represent himself to the fullest extent, as all eyes would be cast upon him. Lining up on the very inside of the grid, he began to get pinched while rounding the initial bend. Just inside the top ten in the opening laps, the fluorescent orange setup was hard to miss, especially has he was attached to his teammate Shane McElrath at the hip. With the fram cam displaying his true body English, Olden- burg was pushing feverishly, and it was apparent. Nearing the halfway point, Oldenburg sat ninth, jockeying the KTM to press forward, lashing the shrouds with his TLD laced whip. As the 250 galloped, he began to look over an notice a certain blue steel type character charging alongside, it was Colt Nichols. Nichols would make the move and push Mitch back to tenth with ten minutes to go. However, with Jeremy Martin and Cianciarulo having difficulties of their own, Oldenburg would leap frog back to seventh place with five minutes to go. A solid effort for the inaugural East Coast round, his efforts would be rewarded with a seventh place finish and a remarkable sixth place finish overall.
