During Sunday’s heat races, Pierce Brown charged through the pack after mediocre starts put him mid-pack and on the edge of the qualifying positions. He had no problem making passes, qualifying 5th in Schoolboy 2 and making his way from 6th at the end of the 1st lap to qualify on top in Schoolboy 1. The Schoolboy 2 main event produced some first corner chaos as it seems 1/4th of the field was pushed wide in the first corner. Brown was able to take advantage of the hectic start and hold a tight line. It only took him one corner to blast around the outside of Kawasaki’s Levi Newby and put his longtime rival Brock Papi in his sights.
