The two riders know each other well and Brown used this to his advantage by sneaking up the inside of Papi just before the finish line and throwing down a nasty scrub in the process. Brown operated his KTM with Dungey-esque precision throughout the remainder of the race, tracking the blistering pace of 2nd placed Jordan Bailey who caught him with 2 laps to go. Brown showed the racecraft of a seasoned veteran, working the defensive lines in order to keep the Kawasaki of Bailey at bay. He upped the intensity by turning his fastest lap of the race on the final lap and worked the inside line just before the finish line in order to hold off Bailey by just 2 tenths of a second. In the Schoolboy 1 main event, Brown didn’t experience the same first corner fortune and found himself sitting in 7th place on the first lap. He methodically made his way through the pack - picking off Chase Fasnacht for 6th, Gabe Gutierres for 5th, and Colton Eigenmann for 4th one after another. Although Brown had podium speed, the damage had already been done and he ran out of time tracking down Brock Papi for the final podium spot.
