As they neared the halfway point, Alex began to pick up the pace and it seemed he would challenge for 3rd.
With just a few laps left, Alex made a pass on Nelson for 3rd and was working hard to catch the leaders. Alex’s pressure paid off as he took over 2nd position with two laps to go. He would take 2nd and win the overall at Washougal by a
staggering eleven points over 2nd.
