ALEX MARTIN
In the beginning of the 2016 motocross season, the unthinkable was happening. The two time champ’s older brother, was a now a contender for the win. Alex is in his 8th full-length season as a pro and is continuing to climb to the top. He has been on a steady improvement for many years and there is no telling how fast he
will become. Martin has proved that he can hang with his brother (the two time champ), and even beat him. Against the best in the world, Alex is now a favorite to win every Saturday. Although Alex has not won a moto thus far in 2016, he has taken home an overall win and multiple podium finishes. Last weekend, Alex pulled two holeshots at his home track but mistakes kept him from taking the victory. Alex will be determined to get another overall win and multiple moto wins as the series comes to a close. Alex now sits 4th in points going into Washougal, about 65 points behind the leader. We have seen mechanical failures from many riders including both Martin brothers so far this season and anything can and will happen as they finish out the season. It would not be surprising if Alex is sitting near the top of the standings before the end of the year.
