ADAM CIANCURULO
Amidst what many would say is a rebuilding year, Adam Ciancurulo came into round 9 at Washougal this
past weekend hoping for a step in the right direction. With all the amateur accolades and shiny hardware to prove he is no stranger to the top step of the podium, Adam hasn’t, in the professional ranks, quite lived up to the hype since his 2013 induction. So far, AC has struggled to put the Monster Energy Kawasaki into the top five and with that said, for Adam, it comes down to fitness and overall confidence. He will continuously put the green machine up front early but has a hard time maintaining the momentum through the full length of the moto. Now some weeks it may be due to the excruciating throb of arm pump, while other weeks it appears that Adam’s sails deplete once that early race position is lost.
Well, dealing with the rough conditions of Millville, Adam came out of round eight able to tie his season-best finish of 6th overall and afterwards, still seemed unwilling to settle. If he can continue with the progress he’s made since round one back at Hangtown, pushing his lanky frame for the full thirty minutes plus two, there isn’t a doubt in the industry that Ciancurulo can’t make a real push towards the lead pack as the 2016 season reaches its final stages. Let’s take a look at how his Saturday unraveled.
