Joey Savatgy had quite the race in moto one, battling hard with Alex Martin. He got a great jump off the start placing him right around third place. The Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki rider quickly made the pass on Harrison for second place right behind the leader of Alex Martin. Keeping the distance between him and first place very close, Savatgy was working as hard as he could to get as many points possible knowing that’s what he needs to get back in that championship race. In their own world of racing they pulled a huge lead on
third place that only got bigger as the moto went on. Right around the fifteen minute marker he closed the small gap and worked on trying to make that pass for first. Running side by side with A. Martin he was unable to hold down the pass. Making a couple mistakes after that he fell back a little bit. Not getting discouraged he made another effort to pass the Yamalube Star Racing Yamaha rider. Really putting the pressure on him, Savatgy was hoping to find that open window to get by A. Martin, but he wasn’t letting his guard down. Unable to hold down a pass Savatgy finished off moto one in second place, gaining a couple points on Webb. In moto two he got a good start right behind Webb. Knowing he needed to be out front as early as possible, he turned up the speed a notch just a few turns in and aggressively passed Webb. But it back fired when Webb came back at him in another turn causing both riders to go down and
a few others. After dealing with the pile up Savatgy gained his bearings as quick as he could, falling back all the way to twenty-second. With just a little less then half the pack in front of him the work was cut out for Savatgy. Not able to make his ascent forward as quickly as Webb he still maneuvered his way through the pack. Gaining a position here and there he was able to finish out the second moto in eleventh. Going second and eleventh for the day getting fourth overall.
