The first race brought on mixed conditions and pre-
sented the teams and riders with a choice between
the M4 Ecstar Suzuki team decided to put full slicks on Debise’s bike in the hope that his race pace would be extremely superior in the
closing laps and he would be able to make a charge towards the front. His disposition in the championship put him in the position to take a risk, but unfortunately it didn’t pay off. >>

His pace remained stagnant until the halfway point of the race when the track began to dry and he was finally able
to improve his lap times, climbing all the way from twenty-third to fourteenth in the matter of just three laps. The Suzuki rider was able to clock the fastest lap of the race on the final lap, but it was too little too late as the shortened race distance didn’t allow him enough time to close the gap on his competitors, leav-
ing him with only two championship points to show for his efforts. In the second race, Debise was focused on returning to the podium and riding a smart race. He took ad- vantage of a mistake by Garrett Gerloff in the first corner and briefly moved into second position, but he conceded the spot a couple of corners later as the factory Yamaha duo sprinted away at the front of the field. The French- man rode a relatively lonely race in third posi- tion all the way until the checkered flag, finishing approximately seventeen seconds behind the lead- ing duo. He felt as though it was too risky to push for first or second, so he remained calculated and composed, bringing home sixteen championship points as he switches his focus to the next race in Utah.
