His season took an unexpected turn when he crashed out of both races in Virginia in the early laps, forfeiting fifty valuable championship points to his main rivals as he dropped back to fourth place in the standings. Debise will be aiming to put his M4 Ecstar Suzuki back on the podium as he attempts regain third position in the championship at Road America.
Debise was back in his regular form from the start of the weekend as the Frenchman showed exceptional pace that kept him near the top of the time sheets. He laid down the gauntlet in Saturday’s morning qualifying session as he steadily improved his face with each passing minute, eventually clicking off a 2:33.479 that placed him in second place on the grid, narrowly missing out on pole position by just eight one thousandths of a second.
