>> Mitchell Harrison is still working to get his groove this year. Struggling in and out Harrison knows he need to be smarter and more aggressive when its race time. After last weekend at Muddy Creek in Tennessee going 10-10 for the overall tenth position, Harrison was ready to race his hometown track at round 5 in Michigan.
Feeling confident and ready to start the day the Yamalube Star Racing Yamaha Rider quali- fied in the morning with a solid time. Excited to race and hear the cheering from the infamous Redbud crowd Harrison set himself up as they got ready to take off for moto number one. Gate drops and the 250’s launch off the line and squeeze into turn number one. Harrison comes off the line mid pack trying to push his way through the pack. Not being able to get a front position in the start Mitchell persists and goes to work. The track is perfect and Harrison works himself into a groove. Passing a couple riders into the top ten and eventually into 7th the Yamalube Star Racing Yamaha Rider holds his line as the minutes turn into seconds and then into the final lap. The flag is flown and Harrison ends moto one in 7th place. A great finish for the Michi- gan native.
The day goes on and moto number two is set up on the line. Harrison launches off the line into the front of the pack making himself known. Making progress and gaining positions Harrison
is top five. Determined and charging hard Harrison is in second place right behind Alex Martin. Then Alex Martin comes into a corner and his front wheel washes out. Martin loses the lead as the race is halfway over. Mitchell Harrison makes the pass into first. Harrison is leading the race now. Then Zach Osborne comes creeping up on Mitchell. Trying his absolute best Har- rison holds off Osborne who’s trying to make the pass into first. Mitchell Harrison is in the lead and Zach is on a mission. Zach puts pressure on Harrison as they head over Loracco’s Leap. Harrison chops off Osborne protecting the inside line. Only a couple laps left and Harrison still has the lead. Osborne takes the inside line in the rollers and steals the lead from Mitchell Har- rison. He crosses the finish line in second his best career finish. Ending the day with a fourth overall Mitchell Harrison is beyond happy with how he finished at his hometown race.
