Mathew Scholtz made
some serious waves in the MotoAmerica paddock at the first round of the 2017 season
at COTA. The South African impressed in his first ride on the Westby Racing Yamaha team
as a full time rider, finishing
in second position in the Superstock 1000 classification in both races at the opener.
The most impressive statistic wasn’t just his finishing position in the Superstock 1000 class, but that he actually managed
to snag fourth overall between both classes on a track that he’d never raced before. He made some major improvements with the bike throughout the weekend in order to better suit his riding style, placing him in good spirits heading into round two at Road Atlanta. >>
