SUPERSPORT
Anderson was heading into the second round of the season at Road Atlanta with momentum on his side, but his weekend was
unfortunately derailed by the unexpected. The Rickdiculous Racing Yamaha rider was suffering from flu-like symptoms throughout
Although he was struggling to keep food and fluids down on Saturday morning, Anderson still managed to push past his illness and put himself on the fourth row of the grid. Although the first
race was eventually shortened to an eight lap sprint to the finish line due to a red flag incident, it most likely worked against the young Californian as it disrupted his rhythm and forced him to reassess his illness after exerting most of his energy in the initial start. Despite the setback, Anderson still managed to fight his way to a top ten finish overall in the first race of the weekend, gathering valuable points in the championship chase. He was determined to redeem himself on Sunday for the second race of the weekend and he put in a spirited ride throughout the opening portion of the race to move forward from the back of the fourth row. Anderson battled his way up to tenth position on the opening lap, but he didn’t stop there. He swiftly overtook the Kawasaki ride of Conner Blevins in order to advance into the top ten, making a move past the Altus Motorsports Suzuki of JC Camacho shortly thereafter. Anderson was caving through the pack like the proverbial knife through butter, but unfortunately the lack of energy due to his illness caught up with him in the second portion of the race. He proved his speed and his ability to make passes when it counts, but there was nothing the Yamaha rider could do as he faded back to eleventh position before the checkered flag.
the weekend, therefore turning both races into a matter of damage control.
