JCCAMACHO
SUPERSTOCK 600
In the opening race, he was fighting within a multi-rider battle for the Superstock 600 podium, but the race was brought to a halt
due to a red flag. After the restart, Camacho made a small mistake in the early laps of the eight lap affair, providing him with way
too much ground to make up in such a short period of time.
Fortunately, he was able to hang on four fourteenth position overall and salvage a couple of points in the process. The second race was a much better showing from the Texas native as he nailed the
start aboard his Altus Motorsports Suzuki, advancing a couple of positions on the opening lap. Camacho found himself in seventh place behind Nick McFadden throughout the first lap, but he quickly came under attack from Jason Aguilar. The Californian worked his way past and Camacho didn’t allow him to make a break, holding on firmly to the rear fender of the Yamaha. Six laps down the road, Daytona Anderson joined the fray and forced his way past Camacho, but he didn’t allow the overtake to rattle his composure. He did his best to learn from the riders ahead of him as he used excellent racecraft to keep Michael Gilbert at bay in ninth position. The action began to pick up in the final third of the race as Gilbert found his way past, but Camacho struck back as he immediately moved past Daytona Anderson in the closing stages of the race. He kept his head down and put on a late race charge in order to track down Gilbert and Aguilar, but he narrowly missed out on the Superstock 600 podium by merely one tenth of a second at the finish line.
