JC Camacho was fortunate enough to receive an invite to the
the Supersport class as one of a few Superstock 600 competitors.
The twenty-four year old Texan used the weekend as a valuable learning experience and made some headway in preparation for the start of the Superstock 600 Championship at Road Atlanta, placing in ninth position overall in his home state of Texas. The
list of riders that are deemed capable of finishing on the podium over the course of the new season. Camacho experienced a bit of misfortune on Friday during practice as his bike blew up in the second practice session, robbing him of valuable track time in the process. The Texan was able to put the misfortune behind him and march forward in qualifying as he set a 1:30.830 at the last possible opportunity in the final minutes of the session. Camacho earned the final spot on the third row of the grid heading into the
opening round of the 2017 MotoAmerica season at Circuit of the
Americas as he was presented with an opportunity to compete in
Altus Motorsports Suzuki rider finished in fifth position in the first race, only one tenth behind the second placed rider in his championship last year, therefore placing him at the top of the class. >>
