JO SHIMODA
Jo Shimoda’s consistency kept him on the podium throughout the entire day of racing at the opening round of SXA racing in Anaheim as the Japanese native finished
all three heat races in third posi- tion and all three main events
in second. The AMSOIL Factory Connection Honda rider showed the same speed and determina- tion when racing kicked off at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, putting himself at the forefront of heat race contention. Shimoda took both heat race victories in Schoolboy 2 and 250 B and battled his way to a sec- ond place finish in the Amateur All-Star heat race. He was able
to carry that same momentum
into the main events where he often found himself tussling with his teammate Carson Mumford. The two were never far from one another on track and they traded wins between Schoolboy 2 and 250 B with Shimoda winning the former. In the Amatuer All-Star class, Shimoda wasn’t competing against his teammate and he was able to march confidently to the victory, earning two wins and three subsequent podiums to cap off his weekend.
