Dean Wilson entered Unadilla poised to keep on improving and prove to the teams that he still has what
it takes to succeed. He looked solid in qualifying practice throwing down the seventh quickest time and
was ready to try and conquer the hot and brutal motos. The first moto was rather quiet for Dean-o and he started by jumping out to tenth place as they grabbed the green flag. He held strong in that position until dropping a spot around the halfway point. He stayed steady and brought it home with an eleventh place finish. He knows he can do better and was dead set on doing so in the following moto. Wilson got a great start in the second moto emerging from the first turn in third place behind teammate Marvin Musquin and points leader Ken Roczen. Wilson must not be used to running that blistering fast pace early on in the races because he quickly got gobbled up. His endurance still might not be there after missing so much time and this track was especially sweltering and rough. Nicoletti would get by on the opening lap despite dicing back forth for a few corners. Then Bloss and Peick would get around the following lap but he bumped back up to fifth after a crash from Musquin.
