DEAN WILSON
Not too many riders can say they have had as much bad luck as Dean Wilson. The Factory Red Bull KTM
rider has been injured far more than he has been healthy over the course of the last three years. He has not completed a full outdoor motocross series since he won the 250 title way back in 2011. During that season he showed what he is capable of when healthy and that is why KTM gave him the premier ride in the premier class in 2014. Although he has hardly been on the starting line for the team, they have remained loyal and stuck by his side through the dark times and more than happy to see him back on the track. Wilson has showed true grit and perseverance through the years with his injuries and especially his last two. Back to back years of blown out knees nearly prompted the Scottish rider to call it quits but he didn’t want to take the easy way out. He remained resilient, mentally and physically strong and worked his hardest to get back on the line a month ago at Millville. He didn’t blow anyone’s doors off but he has put two solid weekends together since returning and is improving moto by moto. This two-week break surely helped him accelerate his improving results.
