Savatgy would finally get around Tonus as well as Cianciarulo a few laps later and attempt to track down Webb.
But by the time Savatgy got into second, Webb was too far out and he would have to settle with the runner up. Savatgy nailed another stellar start in the second moto whipping through the infamous gravity cavity in second place once again behind teammate Austin Forkner. He would put the pressure on but would make a mistake just before the entrance to ‘Screw U’ allowing Webb to take second. Then from there Savatgy slowly started to fall backwards until he went into full free fall mode. In a matter of a few laps he was way back in seventeenth when he finally decided he could go no further. Initial reports are that he fell victim to the severe heat that forced him to exit the race. Not the way Savatgy would have liked to launch his last ditch effort at the title but he is not mathematically eliminated yet so there still remains that little sliver of hope at the remaining two races.
