Benny Bloss / Big Rig / Giraffe / Big Ben, whatever you want to call him it doesn’t matter because all of his names are being said more frequent this second half of the season. As the season is winding down Bloss is picking it up and is continuing to improve week in and week out, Unadilla marking his best results yet. 7-4
moto scores where enough to give the rookie 4th overall on the day, here is the break down of his weekend. Benny and the Bto sports team got word of their rig catching fire Friday night, bikes, gear, equipment, tools, parts and the rig where all destroyed. It looked like the team was going to be spectating Saturday. Fortunately for Bloss and the BTO Sports KTM team the whole factory Ktm team and Troy Lee Designs Ktm team, as well as Rockstar Husqvanra team along with a few other helpers worked their tails off to make sure the BTO could operate come race day. When the riders came around lap one of their first 450 moto of the day Bloss was in the middle of some heavy traffic running in 13th. It didn’t take the young rider long to dissect his way into the top ten and before long he was battling with Nicoletti for 7th. A good start was needed for Big Rig to get himself into the top 5 for race two. The opening stages of the final moto of the day where unbelievable, there was 6-7 riders who where fighting for 3rd. It seemed as Roczen and Musquin where checked out, but Marv made a mistake in the “screw U” corner and the whole pack got by. Bloss was now into 3rd right behind Nicoletti and he knew it was his time to hit another gear. Benny got around Philthy Phil and started to check out from the rest of the field. Heavy hitters Musquin and Tomac where on their way to the front of the pack which was bad news for the #167. The usual front runners eventually got by, and Benny settled in to 4th place and had his best finish of his career.
