ENZO LOPES
Although he didn’t have the most impressive list of results throughout the 2017 racing season, Enzo Lopes had some of the most impressive speed in the A class. It appeared that he was one of the only riders truly able to derail Justin Cooper’s suc- cessful week at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch, but it was not meant to be. The KTM rider encountered some unfortunate circumstances throughout the year that prohibited him from riding to his full potential, but nonetheless he finally found his form at the last race of the season. Lopes won the 250 Pro Sport class on the supercross track at Mini O’s, but the event would be cut short after he sustained an injury as
a result of a crash in one of his first motocross races. The Brazilian native is gearing up for his Pro Motocross debut at Hangtown in May and
he’ll undoubtedly be one of the title favorites during his last hoorah in the A class at spring nationals.
GARRETT MARCHBANKS
Garrett Marchbanks added another exceptional year to the history books in 2017, collecting number one plates all across the country at various amateur motocross events. The Team Green Kawasaki sensation found himself on the top of the box
at all of the spring nationals that he contested and carried that victorious form all the way through the middle of the season, eventually adding two more Loretta Lynn’s National Cham- pionships to his grand total, bringing the final tally to eight. He ended the season with a pair of titles at the Thor Winter Olympics, splitting success between both Supercross and Moto- cross, which put him in the right place heading into 2018. The new year
was quick to produce new trophies for Marchbanks, quickly starting with two AX Lites East victories as he earned his Road to SX Points. The Utah native is going to be determined to put a stamp on his amateur career during spring nationals before eagerly making the jump to the professional ranks.
