EVAN FERRY
Evan Ferry made it apparent at the 2016 iteration of the Loretta Lynn’s Amateur National Championship
that he was more than just a name, scoring fourth and sixth place overall finishes in the 65cc classification.
The Floridian continued to succeed as he headed back to his home state for Mini O’s, recording three top five finishes including two podiums. As the 2017 racing season got underway, Ferry produced the necessary results to keep the ball rolling throughout spring nationals, most notably finish- ing second in the 85cc (9-12) class
at the Daytona RCSX. The Florida native’s time at Loretta’s ended early in 2017 due to a broken wrist sus- tained at the beginning of the week, but he was able to recover and get back on the bike in time for Mini O’s. The Kawasaki rider had a mixed bag of results down at Gatorback Cycle Park, but flashes of speed were still present from the young Floridian as he won a heat race in the Supermini 1 class and finished fourth overall in the stacked 85cc (12-13) class on the motocross track.
NATE THRASHER
Nate Thrasher made one of the biggest moves of the 2016 - 2017 offseason by joining forces with the Team Green Kawasaki outfit. Before officially joining the team, Thrasher laid down one of the most impressive performances of his career at the 45th annual Thor Winter Olympics at Gatorback Cycle Park, winning a total of five titles. The Tennessee native set off to an incredible start as a new member of Team Green in 2017, winning all three of his classes at
the Millcreek Spring Classic. Unfor- tunately, he suffered a wrist injury during practice at the Daytona RCSX and was forced to sit out the rest of the spring nationals, but Thrasher was able to recover in time to qualify for the big show at Loretta Lynn’s, scoring his first podium at the Ranch in the Mini Sr. 2 class. The Tennes- see native wasn’t able to replicate his impeccable performance from Mini O’s one year prior to close out the 2017 season, but he still found the overall podium on three separate oc- casions. Thrasher is back on a KTM for 2018 and beyond after hooking up with Orange Brigade, posing more questions than answers heading into spring nationals.
