CARTER BIESE
After placing in the top five overall at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch as a competi-
tor in the Mini Sr. 1 division in 2016, Carter Biese put himself on the map
in the amateur motocross ranks. The Wisconsin native came into the 2017 season with a point to prove in the Schoolboy class and he got off to an exceptional start at spring nation-
als. Despite battling an illness at the Daytona RCSX, Biese still managed
to record a third place overall finish in the Schoolboy 1 class and a fifth place overall in the 125 12+ division. Fast forward to August, Biese remained consistent in a chaotic 125 (12-16) B/C class down in Hurricane Mills, winning the first Loretta Lynn’s Amateur Nation- al Championship of his career. Biese showed up at The Motoplayground Race at Ponca City to get some ap- plicable race time in on the 250 and
he immediately found success on the higher cc machine, snagging a third overall in the 250 B class. The Wiscon- sin native collected some solid top five finishes throughout the week at Mini O’s, putting him right where he wants to be heading into the new year. He’s gotten off to an exceptional start in 2018 in the form of two victories at the Monster Energy Amateur Supercross in Tampa, boosting his confidence heading into spring nationals.
JAYDEN CLOUGH
Jayden Clough has continued to make steady improvements during his climb throughout the amateur motocross ranks, landing his first podium at Loretta Lynn’s Amateur National Championship in the 65cc (7-11) class in 2015. In the past
two years, the Minnesota native has made progress towards the
top five, finishing sixth and seventh respectively in both classes that he contested at the Ranch last year.
In addition to his solid results in Hurricane Mills, the teenager also finished all three of his classes within the top five at the Baja Brawl, including the Supermini 1 class against older competition. Clough returned to the Motoplayground Race at Ponca city after winning multiple titles in 2016, finishing the weekend with a best result of third overall in the stacked 85cc (9-12) class. The rider out of Minnesota had a couple of challenging motos in late November at Gatorback Cycle Park, but he still managed to record three top five overall finishes between the supercross and moto- cross disciplines at Mini O’s.
