GRANT HARLAN
Grant Harlan’s unrelenting consis- tency throughout the spring events didn’t go unnoticed; the Yamaha rider rarely strayed far from the top five and showed the speed to battle for podi- ums on multiple occasions between the Daytona RCSX and the JS7 Free- stone Spring Championship. Apart from a poor finish in the 250 B class at the Daytona International Speedway, Harlan finished all of his motos at the front of the pack. His best individual finish came in the 250 B class as he won his heat race, but a fourth and fifth in 250 B Limited and Schoolboy
2 served as his best overall results. The Texan moved onto his home state to contest the JS7 Freestone Spring Championship and put forth an extremely impressive performance in Wortham, finishing nine out of ten motos within the top ten. Competing in five different classes is a feat of his own, yet Harlan managed to finish
in the top three of the 450 B Limited class and fourth overall in the highly competitive 250 B division.
AUSTIN CAMDEN
2018 marks the beginning of the 65cc campaign for Austin Camden and he’s taking no time getting up to speed after moving up from the 51cc ranks. The Californian showed up at the in- augural Spring A Ding Ding at Under- ground MX with podiums on his radar and he easily achieved his goals.
The Husqvarna rider finished on the podium four times during the weekend of racing in Kemp, only missing the box in the 65cc Open class against older competition. His consistency
in the multiple (7-9) classes earned him third overall and second overall, providing him with a bundle of confi- dence prior to the week of racing at the JS7 Freestone Spring Champion- ship. Camden faced a little bit more adversity once the gate dropped in Wortham, but the Husqvarna rider still found a way to rise to the occasion in the 65cc (7-9) class, putting together 5-4 moto scores in order to earn a fourth place overall.
