JEREMY RYAN
Jeremy Ryan has been one of the repeat contenders at the front of the Supermini classes since last year, most notably finishing in third place on the overall podium at the Monster Energy Cup in October of 2017. The California native finished third place overall in the Supermini 2 class last year at the JS7 Freestone Spring Championship, providing him with a certain level of confidence in anticipa- tion of this year’s event. The Kawa- saki rider wasn’t able to reach the overall podium for the second year running, but he still managed to finish in third place in his first Supermini 1 moto. An unfortunate mistake dam- aged his chances at a good overall finish in the Supermini 2 class, but Ryan was able to come away with a fifth place in the Supermini 1 division after a couple of solid motos in an impossibly stacked class.
TYSON JOHNSON
Following a lacerated spleen at last year’s running of the Thor Winter Olympics, Tyson Johnson was forced to sit out the end of his last season on the 125; he has since switched full time to the 250cc machine and immediately began to set the B class alight. The Cali- fornian put together a week full of speed and consistency at the JS7 Freestone Spring Championship, most notably winning his heat race in the 250 B Limited class. The KTM rider also scored a second place in Schoolboy 2 and a couple of top ten finishes, but he wasn’t able to frequent the podium enough in order to earn an overall result
on the box. Nonetheless, Johnson maintained non-stop top five speed throughout the week and put him- self where he needed to be in order to stay consistent, finishing both 250 B classes in sixth place overall and the Schoolboy 2 class in fourth place overall.
