BRADLEY TAFT
Bradley Taft is one of the newest faces we have on the AMA pro motocross series. This young man turned
pro at Unadilla after a successful climax to his amateur career at Loretta Lynn’s earlier this month and he is
already turning heads. At Loretta’s this year he won the coveted 250 A class and secured a ride with Cycletrader.com/Rock River Yamaha for the last three rounds of the season and beyond. He came into Unadilla relatively unknown to the average fan but quickly made a name for himself by getting up front early thanks to some great starts. He’s been very quick and aggressive at the beginning of motos and last weekend at Budds Creek he even temporarily passed Zach Osborne, who would go on to win the moto. He credits that ability to be quick and aggressive early to his training with Cooper Webb under Gareth Swanepoel’s program. Taft began training with Swanepoel last summer and it has definitely helped improve his speed and refine his skills. Constantly chasing tail to the 250 champion is also without a doubt a big help to his progression as a professional. The one part of his game that is lacking right now is his endurance as he has faded late in these motos but that is commonplace for a rookie. If he can improve on that element, he has the potential to be a contender in 2017.
