>> Garrett Marchbanks put another Team Green Kawasaki out front with an uncontested holeshot as he dropped down into the gator pit just ahead of Joe Shimoda and Austin Winslow. Marchbanks put in a sprint lap right away and shot out to an advantage of over 3 seconds ahead of his competi- tors. Shimoda turned a quick pace in 2nd place as well as he was able to resist the pressure of Austin Winslow in 3rd. The Geico Honda backed rider practically matched the lap time of Marchbanks on the second lap, but the damage was already done as Marchbanks had no problem maintaining the gap at the front of the pack. He continued to lay down heaters as
no one was able to come anywhere near him once he found his rhythm. The Utah native was miles better than any of his competition and he’ll look to capitalize on the 1st place finish in order to put him in a good position for the overall.
