>> Brad Smith worked his way out to an early lead on his Kawasaki with a display of perfect technique. The full-time MTF employee took a break from coaching riders and do- ing track work to come out and race the 30+ class, showing that he’s got what it takes to take the lead in one of the most competitive races in the country. He outrode the Suzuki duo of Casey Clark and Michael Stevenson at the beginning of the race, putting multiple seconds into them with each pass- ing lap. Stevenson pressured Clark throughout the duration of the race, but he was never able to make the move into 2nd. Smith had built a gap of about 18 seconds just before he snagged the checkered flag ahead of his rivals.
