>> Kobe Heffner grabbed a lengthy holeshot as he attempt- ed to track down the overall victory. Greye Tate and Carson Brown were close behind Heffner on the opening lap and they attempted to keep him within striking distance. Heffner began to make some headway at the front of the field just as Carson Brown moved into 2nd place toward the end of the first lap. Heffner had approximately a 3 second lead ahead of the fellow Kawasaki rider of Brown. Justin Rodbell wasn’t far behind in 3rd place as the leading trio circulated the
track with an equidistant gap between the lot of them. Hef- fner was in a commanding position to secure the overall as he also claimed the victory in his heat race. Carson Brown began to scoot back into contention for the lead just as the two Kawasakis took the white flag, but the gap that Heffner had accumulated was too much for the Team Green rider to overcome. He was able to barely best the pace of the lead- ing Kawasaki, but it was all for not as Heffner extended his left arm toward the sky, celebrating his championship in style with a moto win. Justin Rodbell snagged 2nd overall and Zane Merrett put his KTM in the 3rd spot on the box.
