at a stunning advantage headed into the last couple laps of the race. The young Floridian in 2nd place was able to close the advantage to the front of the field dramatically over the course of the second lap; he brought himself within half a second of the lead, putting him in position to push for the win on the final lap. Cole was able to dig deep and set the fast- est lap of the race on the final time of trying, working his way past Thomas and stretching out a gap of almost a second by the time they crossed the finish line. Cole showed incredible speed to make up the time and pull off the moto win, putting him in an optimal position to take the overall victory after the second moto.
