put himself at an early advantage ahead of Kade Johnson and Tyler Mollet. Adams and Johnson raced neck and neck across the opening lap, crossing the finish line for the first time under a second apart from one another. Johnson was able to work his way past Adams on the second lap, imme- diately laying down a hot pace from the front of the field. He built a gap of almost two seconds ahead of his fellow Cobra rider as Mollet began to close in on 2nd place towards the end of the moto. Mollet set the fastest lap of the entire race on the final lap as he tracked down Adams and moved into 2nd place. He was 2 seconds faster than the leader, but the gap that Johnson had at the front was enough to cooly main- tain on his way to a comfortable heat race victory.
