>> Jordan Bailey got out to one of his best starts of the
entire week of racing as he put his Rockstar Husqvarna into the lead ahead of the KTM duo of Sean Cantrell and Blake Neiheiser. Bailey set a solid pace at the front of the field as he did his best to keep Cantrell at bay. He put together a couple of mistake free laps to start the race, but it wasn’t until the third lap that Cantrell was able to make the move for the lead. Meanwhile, Challen Tennant suffered one of his worst starts of the week as he was forced to come from outside of the top 5 and into podium contention. The TLD KTM rider of Cantrell forced his way past the Husqvarna of Bailey, eking out a 1 second gap over the span of the lap. The very next lap, Tennant put his Star Racing Yamaha into 3rd position as he found himself a familiar spot on the podium. The Texan immediately started to clock the fastest lap times of anyone in the race, eventually reeling in Bailey in 2nd. Tennant set the fastest lap of the entire moto on the last go ‘round, clos- ing into just a couple of tenths behind the Floridian, but he came up just short. Cantrell had a comfortable gap at the front of the pack that he maintained with incredible compo- sure, giving him the heat win and putting him in prime posi- tion to snag the overall.
