>> Brook Whipple took the early lead ahead of the Yamaha duo of Jordan Jarvis and Jazzmyn Canfield. Jarvis closed in on the leader and was able to make the move about halfway through the lap through the rollers section. She set up for the pass in the previous corner by grabbing a handful of throttle and getting a better drive into the section. On the follow-
ing lap, Whipple came under pressure from Jamie Astudillo and the two of them rode within a couple of bike lengths of one another for the entire circuit. Meanwhile, Jarvis took the white flag with an immaculate gap ahead of 2nd and 3rd. She put her skills on display and pushed hard on the first couple laps; once she was able to build a gap, Jarvis was able to cruise to the checkered flag and put her Yamaha on the top step of the podium. The rider out of North Carolina went unchallenged on her way to the victory and will look to replicate the performance in the second moto in order to take the overall victory and another #1 plate.
