SUPERSTOCK 600
McFadden turned the most laps of any rider in Saturday’s qualifying session as he attempted to come to terms with the cold,
somewhat damp race track. The Kentuckian ended up clocking his fastest time at the very end of the session, turning a 1:32.594
The Suzuki rider ended up securing a good start as the lights went out to start the first race; he dropped back one position behind Michael Gilbert, but he had an advantage ahead of his rivals throughout the
first couple laps. McFadden worked his way past Gilbert as well as Anthony Mazziotto II and settled into sixth position, tucking in behind Conner Blevins. The current points leader clung to the tailpipe of the Kawasaki as a massive scrap for position took place behind him. At the midway point of the race, Gilbert found a way back past and began to build a slight gap, leaving McFadden to fight for second position in the class within a large group of riders. He was able to stay at the front of the group for the majority of the race, finding himself in sixth position overall on the start of the last lap, he ended up losing a couple of spots on the run to the line and was forced to settle for eighth position, fourth in the Superstock 600 class. In the second race, McFadden got a blinder of a start and promoted himself into sixth position straight away, making a couple of spots in the first corner. The Suzuki rider found himself in a heated battle with Blevins throughout the first third of the race, swapping positions back and forth with the Kawasaki rider every other lap. The two of them eventually gave way to Gilbert and the battle for second place in the Superstock 600 class was on. McFadden was able to control the position up until the final couple of laps, but he unexpectedly came under pressure from Jason Aguilar. The Yamaha rider made a move on the second to last lap, demoting McFadden to the final spot on the podium and sixth position overall.
on his way the head of the third row on the grid.
