He kept his composure and clung
to the back of the group ahead of him, staying within touching distance until he was ready to launch another overtak- ing maneuver. Mazziotto III was briefly involved in a tussle with Jody Barry for ninth place, but the New Jersey native came out on top and began
to apply his focus to the pack ahead of him. He worked his way up to
fifth position, only to drop back down to eighth on the penultimate lap, but he showed his fighting spirit and remounted an attack at the final breath of the race to regain fifth position overall, second in the Superstock 600 class. As the lights went out on Sunday’s race, Mazziotto III fell back a couple of positions on the start
and continued to do so throughout the race. He was involved in a couple of battles with Conner Blevins and Jason Agui- lar, but the Yamaha rider wasn’t able to match their pace as he was in the first race. At the midway point of the race, he fell back
to eighth position after losing a spot to Aguilar and stayed there until the checkered flag, subse- quently finishing fifth in the Superstock 600 class.
