VIRGINIA THEGRID!
JACKSON BLACKMON | KTM RC390 CUP
Jackson Blackmon burst onto the MotoAmerica scene at the last round of the series in 2015 after making a name for himself in the AMA Moto3 National Championship as well as the WERA Formula 3 class, winning both titles respectively. The South Carolina native was named the AMA Youth Road Racer of
the Year and carried that momentum into the 2016 season where he contested his first full MotoAmerica season in the KTM RC390 Cup class, eventually finishing seventh overall. The youngster was set to join the rest of the field at the opening round of the series at Road Atlanta, but an injured wrist put him out of contention for the opening round and he was forced to spectate from the pits and the commentary booth. Blackmon scored multiple top five finishes throughout the 2016 season in the KTM RC390 Cup and he also finished ahead of Road Atlanta’s double race winner, Benjamin Smith, in the points. Considering Smith’s dominance at the opening round of action, Action Jackson will be raring to go as the second round is set to get underway at VIR.
